Drums across Lady Bird Lake (how the movie was made)Ben and his band was to debut their big show at the mighty Continental Club in Austin during the world famous SXSW music fest. Ben wanted something a little more interesting for an opening act, so he decided to make a little movie. In this movie "Capt. Unkle Sam" (Bill Oliver) would be at the helm of the good ship "SS Mark Twain" while drummer Michael Christian would play a rip roaring solo as they voyage across the great waters of Lady Bird Lake - right onto the stage... And this is a movie about how that movie was made. |

Waterloo Records "Instore" RRecord release! February 23rd, 2010 While it SNOWED! |
BEN LIVINGSTON LIVE AT WATERLOO TUESDAY, FEB. 23RD AT 5PM Ben Livingston is internationally known as a neon/light sculptor and inventor of an infinite phosphorescent color palette, which glows within his luminous tubes. What is not well known about Livingston is that he has been writing songs from his art journals for over two decades. His performances are rare, but their provenance is high as his first US public appearance was with Terry Allen and Joe Ely in 1994. Next was Nepal with his trekking troubadour companion, Jeff “Baje” Ragsdale, they called themselves the “Annapurna Rounders”. Livingston and Ragsdale walked and played their “Texas” music almost every evening in guest and tea houses along the two hundred mile trail of the Annapurna ‘Royal Trek’ in the Himalayas to receptive, fun loving international audiences. Livingston and Ragsdale finished their tour with two very well attended performances in Kathmandu. Most recently Livingston’s band, ‘the “That’s what she said!” Boys’ debuted at the Continental Club during the famed Austin, Texas music festival ‘SXSW’ ‘09 to a standing –room only crowd with a line out the door. |
